I Do Good in This Neighborhood
As a volunteer with GallopNYC, I see children and adults of varying ability levels grow more confident in their saddle with every ride they take. The look of pride in their accomplishments that I see in our special riders brings me back each week. I have learned so much about horses and how to care for them, but the most important lesson I've learned is what a difference we can make by giving support and encouragement to all the people we come in contact with throughout our lifetime.
I have been a volunteer for as long as I can remember. Giving back to the community was something I learned growing up in Flatbush. The joy of seeing others succeed helped me immensely in my decision to become a teacher in NY City. As a teacher in a NYC Public School in East Flatbush, I worked side by side with parents and other community members to support each and every student. Seeing all people succeed is what drives me to give my all to each mission I undertake.
